Throughout this multi-day class, learners will enhance their emotional regulation skills, build confidence, and explore various strategies that can be used when working through anger.

Class experience

Students will explore their understanding of anger and enhance their repertoire of various coping strategies that can be utilized in a variety of situations and within different environments.
Ms. Sheera has a 4 year Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child and Youth Care and a 3-year college Diploma in Child and Youth Work. She has been creating and facilitating emotional regulation groups for over 20 years in numerous environments, such as in schools, group home facilities and community centres; and with a variety of children and youth (i.e. children and youth with ASD, ADHD, OD, CD, anxiety diagnoses, as well as neurotypical children and youth). 
Ms. Sheera has the following training certifications and continuously participates in professional learning opportunities:
- Solution-Focused Therapy
- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) certification
- Mental Health First Aid certification
- Understanding and Intervening in the Cycle of Youth Violence training
- Single Sessions Counselling certification
- Courageous Conversations, Confronting Racial Discrimination and Anti-Black Racism (monthly ongoing opportunity)
- Indigenous Perspectives on Mental Health and Trauma training sessions
Ms. Sheera is also a Professional Member of the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Care.
Ms. Sheera is a neurodivergent educator with an ADHD diagnosis.
Materials needed for class 3:

Learners may choose one of the following craft activities-

Coping Key Chain activity
- scissors
- coping strategies print out (as provided by the teacher in classroom section prior to last class commencing)
- a hole punch (or pen or pencil to make a small hole)
- a keyring (or string, something to tie them all together and act similar to a keyring)
- printer 

Coping Strategies Choice Board activity
- scissors
- "when I feel..." print out (as provided by the teacher in classroom section prior to class commencing)
- coping strategies print out (as provided by the teacher in classroom section prior to last class commencing)
- clear sheet protector 
- velcro
- printer 
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Scissors are required for the last class. Adult support may be required.
