US Grade 4 - 6
This class is designed to prepare you for your next grade in school by going over practical multiplication and division strategies. You will be able to master the more difficult times tables includes 6,7,8,9, and 12 times tables. We will go over strategies for solving word problems, including highlighting the key words, identifying the operation and showing your work. As much as possible, this class will be taught using hands-on math strategies. This will mean students will be solving problems, using math manipulatives to visually display equations and sharing their learning through explaining their thought processes out loud.
Learning Goals
Student will go over useful and practical strategies for multiplication and division. We will begin by looking closely at the times tables chart and reviewing strategies for the 6,7,8,9, and 12 times tables. We will use virtual manipulatives (snap cubes) to visually show multiplication and division problems. We will end with a few word problems and games to review what we have learned.
