In this one time class students will discuss key themes, concepts and topics in Harry Potter novels. Students will take part in themed activities, including the writing of a magic potion.

US Grade 3 - 5
Students will learn about descriptive settings as well as adjectives while discussing themes and topics in the Harry Potter films/novels. Students will create a potion using descriptive vocabulary. The class is structured such that the teacher provides instruction about the grammatical concepts and writing concepts, provides examples, and then students are given the opportunity to apply the concepts in an activity.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to use descriptive adjectives.Students will learn to describe a setting in detail in their writing.

Parental Guidance
Some elements of the Harry Potter films and novels include witch craft, sorcery and magic. These elements are used to tell a fantasy story to engage the reader/viewer's imagination.
