This class is designed for students to be actively engaged in movement while learning new vocabulary about mountain climbing. This is called "Total physical response", which matches movement with new vocabulary words. A mountain climbing scenario will be shared using slides. Students will be able to read the instructions and mirror the actions of the instructor. By copying the actions they will learn the new stretches, exercises and any new vocabulary words quickly. Students will also discuss any experiences they have had in the great outdoors related to hiking and mountain climbing.
Learning Goals
Students will learn a series of exercises relating to mountain climbing. They will start with a warm up and stretches. Then they will begin an exercise circuit with several different types of exercises meant to get them moving.
