55 mins in-class hours per weekHomework
1 hour per week. Since this is an ongoing class, the "homework" will be in the form of a game (Gimkit) played each week which will match the new lesson taught. Each week will be a new experience no matter how long the learner has been in the class.Assessment
I can easily assess the level of learning through gameplay. Learners are encouraged to help one another and to ask questions. (questions can be submitted to the teacher privately though the Zoom message system in real time.)Class Experience
US Grade 7 - 10
This class is designed to fill in the gaps learners may have in their English Grammar learning. Some students know nouns very well, but struggle with pronouns, or they may know how to punctuate sentences but struggle with commas, and that's where this class becomes helpful. Navigate the ins and outs of English Grammar with an English Grammar master, creative writer, and veteran teacher. This class is a weekly look at Grammar concepts. A new concept will be introduced each week, so new learners will see the same information for the first time as the learners who have been in the class the week before. The class is structured as a mini lesson over a part of speech, punctuation, writing concept, style, or a grammar concept like participles or prepositional phrases. Then, the class will utilize Gimkit interactive games to reinforce the learning from the lesson. An entirely new lesson will be ready each week, so no two classes will be exactly the same. There will also be the opportunity for learners to request English classes to fill in gaps where the learner may feel deficient.
