Welcome, all teen photographers! *PLEASE NOTE* a working understanding of manual mode and the elements and principles of design is strongly recommended but not required. Most challenges will relate to these topics. Join us weekly to practice our DSLR photography skills! Each week we will meet, and a new photography challenge will be given! Learners will have the rest of the week to take their photos and then will be given the opportunity to present their photos to the class the following week. We will go over everyone's photos together, talk about any challenges met along the way, and practice giving constructive criticism. At the end of each class, we will all vote on the next week's challenge. The description will be updated weekly for new learners. *the number of photos per week may be altered depending on class size* Week 1: 5 photos showing close-up textures and details in nature Week 2: 5 light painting images emphasizing contrast Week 3: 5 portraits highlighting emotions Week 4: 5 landscape images emphasizing colour Learners are welcome to join at any time, as classes will not build on each other. New learners will be given the opportunity to introduce themselves and show off a few of their favourite photos in place of that week's challenge photos.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi there! I'm Sabrina.
I live in Ontario, Canada with my furry and scaly companions. Specifically, I share my home with 4 cats and a wide variety of geckos!
Photography and animals are my two greatest passions in life. I have been taking photos for as long as I can remember, and over time it evolved into my career. I went to Sheridan College, specializing in photography. I now operate my own business where I specialize in photographing families, pets, engagements, newborns, and more!
I am excited to teach classes all about how to take a great photo, both technically and creatively.
Secondary to my photography business, I have a passion for animals of all kinds. I run a small reptile rescue out of my home, focusing mainly on leopard geckos. I take in a variety of different reptiles in various states of health. I am dedicated to learning as much as possible about these creatures and sharing my knowledge with others so they can properly care for and appreciate them. Hopefully, this will reduce the need for rescues like mine in the future.
As an educator, I believe that the classroom should be a place where students can have fun and engage in interactive experiences. My classes are designed to spark curiosity and inspire excitement in students. I am eager to help each student discover their passions and talents
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
Can’t wait to meet you in class!
