***This drawing was one completed in Drawing Summer Camp 2022. If your student attended that camp, they have already completed this drawing. Students will learn in a small group via zoom video chat with Cara. Instruction will be given step-by-step and students will be assisted along the way. No prior knowledge is required for this course. Students will draw a beautiful unicorn head. Students will learn to draw step-by-step and will be able to customize their work however they like by adding accessories, changing colors, adding patterns, etc. Student Materials Needed: *Paper or Sketchbook *Pencil, Sharpener, Eraser *Colored Pencils or Crayons *Black Sharpie (Fine and/or Ultra Fine) *Optional: markers, watercolor *****I LOVE using metallic watercolors and sparkly gel pens for this project! ______________________ **Class Policies: *All class times are approximate. Class length may vary due to student ability and class size. Classes are designed to be no longer than the time allotted. *Late/Missed Class Policy - All courses will begin on time as long as one learner is in the classroom. In the event that no students are in the classroom at the assigned class time, the teacher will leave a message on the discussion board and exit the classroom after 10 minutes. Class recordings are available upon request. ***Tardy Policy - Learners who have missed ten minutes or more of the class time should request a transfer. Instruction is given step-by-step, so tardiness detracts from everyone's learning experience. I am happy to work with you to try to meet your scheduling needs and want each learner to have an optimal experience! *Certificates of completion are available upon request.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor’s Degree in Art and Design from UNC Charlotte
Hello, my name is Cara!
I have been teaching art since 2003 in school and studio environments. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Art from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. My concentrations are in education and painting. I have experience teaching students as young as 3 up to adults. The majority of my in-school teaching experience was in grades 6-12. At my studio, I teach students weekly and also have classes for homeschool students, open studio, birthdays, graduations, and team-building. I love that online platforms allow teachers and students to connect across the world! What an amazing opportunity!
I love to create bright-colored abstract paintings, usually in acrylic or watercolor. I live with my husband and three dogs a short drive from my art studio! I look forward to meeting you!

ANNOUNCEMENT: All ongoing classes will pause for summer break from June 1, 2025 through September 2, 2025.

**Class Policies:
*Please have learners log in 2-3 minutes before the scheduled class start time so that we can start on time.
*All class times are approximate.
I will lock the meeting after ten minutes so that the students in class are not distracted by late students. Instruction is given step-by-step, so tardiness detracts from everyone's learning experience. I am happy to work with you to try to meet your scheduling needs and want each learner to have an optimal experience!
***I do not check or respond to messages while I am teaching classes. I will respond as soon as I can after class has ended.
*Certificates of completion are available upon request.
*Ongoing classes run from September through May. We will take a break for summer so that everyone can vacation and do summer camps.
