***Learners who have little or no experience using Procreate should first take the Procreate 101 course. Basics of the program will not be covered in this course. Learners will use the iOs app Procreate [$12.99 in the Apple App Store] to create unique characters and build storylines for them. Students will have homework after each session that will require approximately one hour outside of class time. Students will work together to improve their ideas by giving feedback on each other's work and providing ideas/solutions for areas that need help. Class sessions will contain periods of lecture, discussion, and group work. Hello, my name is Cara!
I have been teaching art since 2003 in school and studio environments. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Art from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. My concentrations are in education and painting. I have experience teaching students as young as 3 up to adults. The majority of my in-school teaching experience was in grades 6-12. At my studio, I teach students weekly and also have classes for homeschool students, open studio, birthdays, graduations, and team-building. I love that online platforms allow teachers and students to connect across the world! What an amazing opportunity!
I love to create bright-colored abstract paintings, usually in acrylic or watercolor. I live with my husband and three dogs a short drive from my art studio! I look forward to meeting you!
