Parental Guidance
Thank you for looking at this club description. Your child's reading skills are critical to so much development over the next few years. Please stay close to the computer so that you can assist your child should technical problems occur and to keep them on task if needed. I look forward to working with you to keep learning to read fun in your world.
Pre-Requisites
Students should know their letter names, recognize them, and write them neatly. It will be helpful if they are beginning to learn the 70 basic phonograms from an intensive phonics curriculum such as Spell to Write and Read.
Teacher expertise and credentials
As a home educator, I used this with my own children. I have successfully used this method to help do reading intervention for elementary and middle school children. For the past six years, I have helped dozens of students achieve reading success using intensive phonics. See ClassicalStartTutoring for more recommendations than the ones listed below.
Here are two recommendations.
"Susan is an amazing teacher/tutor. She has a strong background in reading and writing and is able to turn student failure into success. I've seen students make multi-grade advances with her tutoring support."

Executive Director of Special Education, Grand Prairie ISD - retired
"I just want to comment that Susan is amazing! My daughter was really struggling, reading at below grade level and just didn't want to study because of how difficult it was for her. She was at the point where she was crying even thinking about going to school. After working with Susan, she immediately improved in her spelling and after meeting for twice a week for about a year, my daughter is on the A/B honor roll and can read anything you give her. What is most important is she has regained her love of school and ENJOYS reading! If you even think your kid has room for improvement in reading or spelling, hire Susan now! She really knows what she is talking about and you won't regret it."
