US Grade Kindergarten - 2
Beginner Level
This lesson will introduce the students to vowels, consonants, and phonograms. They will practice counting syllables, create a consonant reference chart, and practice saying the alphabet phonograms with all of sounds of each letter. We will begin using the method of seeing, hearing, speaking and writing the phonograms and using them to say and write the sounds of words, moving left to right across the page.
Learning Goals
Students will move from recognizing the letters of the alphabet, to understanding that these have more definite sounds when we read with them. They will practice seeing, hearing, saying and writing the single letter consonant phonograms and build simple chart where they will mark those that have more than one sound with a red check mark.
