See - Say - Write - Read Ala Carte #2 Phonograms, Vowels, Syllables
Class experience
US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Beginner Level
This lesson will review consonants and introduce the students to vowels, consonants, and phonograms. They will practice counting syllables, create a consonant reference chart, and practice saying the alphabet phonograms with all of sounds of each letter. We will begin using the method of seeing, hearing, speaking and writing the phonograms and using them to say and write the sounds of words, moving left to right across the page.
This method was introduced to me more than twenty years ago. I have successfully used this with my own homeschooled children, with reading intervention students at a charter school in my area, and since 2019 I have been tutoring full time using primarily Spell to Write and Read for my struggling readers.
