Confidence Building 1:1 Reading Tutoring 2nd Grade
This on going ONE DAY/WK class will help your emergent or struggling reader gain confidence in phonics and reading comprehension skills. Sounding out words and reading fluency will be emphasized to give your child confidence in reading.

One minute reading drills will be given to (back to back) to show the student the power of rereading. This also provides encouragement and boosts confidence when the reader starts to see their improvement in a tangible way.Class Experience

*This class is in high demand. * I love helping kids become fluent readers. Fluent readers gain comprehension and are able to excel at other academic subjects such as Science and Social Studies. It's such a joy to help open up the world for them! Teaching Style: Props and visual aides are used to connect for understanding. “I do. We do. You do.” is the model of my lessons. Learner Reading Requirements: -Learners should know basic letter sounds. -Learners should be ready to put letter sounds together to form CVCe words (consonant-vowel-consonant-silent E). Weekly Schedule: -We will go through a book or poem during each class. -Consideration of student’s interests may guide our materials -If you have a book request, I’ll do my best to get that book. Teaching Style: -I am patient with struggling readers. -I correct gently.
