Challenging Literature Series #1: Wuthering Heights - AP Literature
H.S. students are too busy and probably won't read this if their teachers assign it. It is challenging, but great and worth studying. In this 7-week class, I will read aloud, pointing out key details to ensure they learn and understand.

1 hour per week. Students will receive a brief writing assignment to complete at home asking them to compare the two main characters in the story. They will get the assignment during the second to last session.Certificate of Completion

• I will read the novel aloud throughout the course. • I will read for the first 35 – 40 minutes of each session and then have a brief discussion with the students about the plot and themes in the book to ensure they understand it. • While reading, I will demonstrate clear pronunciation and emphasis. • I will encourage learns to stop me at any time if they have questions or comments. • Each session will begin with a brief review from the previous class. • Learners may need to read between sessions if they miss class and fall behind, but they can contact me throughout the week with any questions.
Learning Goals
Students will gain a thorough understanding of the book. They will be able to use this knowledge in discussions and writing assignments.
Students taking AP Literature and Composition and assigned this book will be able to participate in class discussions, complete assignments, and write effective essays.
