1 hour per week. Project: You'll create a one-page zine. All you need is an 8.5 x 11" sheet of paper, your brain, and a few writing/drawing utensils. This should be a fun and meaningful activity. Make sure you choose a topic you're passionate about and YOU want people to know. Download the zine template (below) so you know where to fold/cut. Consider pacing. What's the story you want to tell? Create visual interest. How can you play with contrast and texture? Combine words and pictures. Will you try out illustration or collage? Make thick, bold, clear marks if you plan to photocopy. There are ENDLESS things to make zines about. The key is just to start! Go explore. Go experiment. See why Zines are the best way to use art, personal thoughts such as poetry or a short story, as a form of expression! Join the creativepreneur, artist, writer, and educator, Cici to learn how to make your first zine. This 3 day creative camp is full of history, ideas, and illustration tips to tap into your imagination and help you create an awesome, empowering little self-published work of art. Zines are an easy and inexpensive form of printed expression. They're DIY, easy to reproduce, and you don't need anyone's permission to get started. The whole point is sharing something YOU care about and YOU want people to know. A fun way to share thoughts at school, with your family, or in your community. This class is full of creative prompts — a zine about your room, your favorite flavor of ice cream, your best friend or whatever your heart desires. Receive a downloadable template to help you fold/cut in just the right places. Do not worry if you cannot draw or write a story, it will be an awesome experience and you will find yourself making them ALL THE TIME! Grab a pen, an idea, and let's go.

I have a passion for empowering and elevating young minds and hearts by giving them engaging and challenging educational classes and resources. With a focus on Art, Literacy, and Entrepreneurship, you will find that my classes surround creative expression, non-traditional ELAR classes, and leadership development/life skills. Some of the creative courses includes Photography, Zine Making, Powerful Posters ( a class around an issue they are passionate about). Some of the literacy courses will be The Heroe's Journey, Dystopian Stories and Writing, ELAR Semester and more. The leadership development/ life skills incorporate resume writing, learning their leadership style, self-advocacy, and project-based learning.
I have been teaching for 12 years in the above areas and know that my purpose and what I am gifted at is teaching. I am certified in ELAR, Special Education, ESL, and Therapeutic Arts.
I believe in helping to mold and cultivate humans and not robots and believe that subjects involving the humanities are vital for that. Giving young folks words and self-expression allows them to learn who they are and how they fit in this world.
I am a new fur mom to a spoiled Goldendoodle named, Canary.
