Students will be engaged in various art techniques that are great for self-care and overall mental and emotional wellbeing. Visual Journaling, Collage, Mandalas, Meditation, and more, students will be given prompts and activities they can add to their daily routines. Classes begin with a guided meditation and intentions, this helps set the tone for the class. Then students will participate in 1-2 activities that they will do in their visual journal. Then we will close with affirmations and directions for the next class. I am NOT a therapist, this is not therapy, these are expressive art activities that I use daily as a self-care routine and want to share with others. This class is great for all young people and will benefit everyone. Students will need a visual journal or a sketchbook to use for the class. They will need glue, scrap paper, construction paper, magazines, markers/crayons/etc, and other art supplies they would like to have. Class 1: The Visual Journal Class 2: Doodles, Mandalas, and line art Class 3: Visual Breathing Techniques Class 4: Power Words

I have a passion for empowering and elevating young minds and hearts by giving them engaging and challenging educational classes and resources. With a focus on Art, Literacy, and Entrepreneurship, you will find that my classes surround creative expression, non-traditional ELAR classes, and leadership development/life skills. Some of the creative courses includes Photography, Zine Making, Powerful Posters ( a class around an issue they are passionate about). Some of the literacy courses will be The Heroe's Journey, Dystopian Stories and Writing, ELAR Semester and more. The leadership development/ life skills incorporate resume writing, learning their leadership style, self-advocacy, and project-based learning.
I have been teaching for 12 years in the above areas and know that my purpose and what I am gifted at is teaching. I am certified in ELAR, Special Education, ESL, and Therapeutic Arts.
I believe in helping to mold and cultivate humans and not robots and believe that subjects involving the humanities are vital for that. Giving young folks words and self-expression allows them to learn who they are and how they fit in this world.
I am a new fur mom to a spoiled Goldendoodle named, Canary.
