Building Bricks Famous Architecture Buildings: What Can You Build? Part 1

Students will work on communication skills as they build with building bricks and talk about what they are making. If they do not finish in class, the buildings will be due next class period. Students can offer suggestions to each other.  This class will focus on designing buildings based on the weekly them. I will moderate, ensure class rules are followed, and encourage communication skill development.  Each week the students will post pictures of their creations in the classroom. 
It is important for students to be able to express their creativity using materials that they feel comfortable with. 
1. Beginning of class: icebreaker, share and comments on previous weeks challenge. 
2. Discuss the challenge and answer any questions. 5 mins
3. Build and discuss.  Students can ask for feedback or explain what they are building. 30 minutes.
4. Wrap up and share out about how they felt about the session. 5 minutes
Week 1: Big Ben 
Week 2: Eiffel Tower
Week 3: Empire State Building
Week 4: Petronas Towers Kuala Lumpur
Week 5: Any Famous building of choice. Will need to work ahead of time so can finish up in class. We will do final share out of all projects on the last class.
