US Grade 4 - 7
Young writers often just don't know where to start. They sometimes lack the self-confidence to write, and this often leads to refusal to do assignments or doing very minimal work. Student will turn the paragraphs into a 5-6 paragraph paper. I will post the materials in the classroom so students can...
Students will be able to complete various graphic organizers, use that information in outlines, and then write a 5-6 paragraph paper.
I have been a teacher and counselor for 33 years. I have taught this lesson successfully year after year.
Homework OfferedStudents are welcome to work on essays outside of class, but not required.
0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments OfferedTeacher will provide feedback on writing. This is done during class as they are writing or done with editing comments on the paper.
The class uses google docs as we construct the essays, this is very helpful for those with learning differences. Every student works at their own pace. I can work with the family on how to help specific needs.
Students need to be able to type on a google doc. The essays are 6 paragraphs long, so they need to have ideas for 4 main ideas and details.
This class requires using google docs, and each student needs to have their own device.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
