In this class, we will work on reading comprehension while reading the book "Three's Company, Mallory!" This book is about a young girl named Mallory who has a best friend in her neighborhood. Another young girl moves in and seems to want to steal Mallory's best friend away...or is she trying to steal her away??? In this class, we will read the book, discuss friendship and how to deal with friendship issues, and play games! I will also include a quiz about the book at the end of the 8 weeks. Please be sure your learner can read chapter books at a 3rd-grade level or above. Week 1: Read pages 1-20, discuss the book, and play a game. Week 2: Read pages 21-40, discuss the book, and play a game. Week 3: Read pages 41-60, discuss the book, and play a game. Week 4: Read pages 61-80, discuss the book, and play a game. Week 5: Read pages 81-100, discuss the book, and play a game. Week 6: Read pages 101-120, discuss the book, and play a game. Week 7: Read pages 121-140, discuss the book, and play a game. Week 8: Finish the book, students take a short quiz, and play a game. I encourage active participation in class. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m looking forward to meeting your learner!

Master's Degree in Education from University of Nevada, Las Vegas
I am an elementary school counselor with 18 years of experience. I also teach on other online platforms - VIPKID, Cambly, and Zebra English. During my school counseling career, I've taught many topics in classrooms including self-esteem, coping skills, anger management, social skills, and more. I've also had the pleasure of running clubs based on topics of dinosaurs, unicorns, math, writing, and much more! Being able to share my interests with my students is a luxury!
In Outschool, some of the classes I plan on teaching will include topics on dinosaurs, unicorns, self-esteem, mindfulness, relaxation, coping skills, anger management, social skills, K-2nd grade math, and writing. I truly enjoy teaching these topics and look forward to working with your student!
My teaching style is interactive and learner-focused. I often use power points, stories I've written, discussions, and games in my lessons! I believe that teaching should not only help students learn about the topic being taught but that it should also be engaging and fun!
In my free time, I enjoy hiking, reading, playing with my son and our dog, exercising, and traveling. I believe life is meant to be lived and enjoyed to the fullest!
