Knowing and understanding how to find measurements of various shapes are an essential part of geometry, and math in general. This is the second part of the Beginning Geometry series, where students will be taught about finding the area and perimeter, of four shapes: squares, rectangles, triangles, and circles. A key to knowing how to find the area and perimeter is first knowing the basic definition of each shape. Included are their parts and how they form. For example, when studying circles, the circumference, radius, and diameter are important to know. Each of those will be studied and defined. We will also cover the mathematics and different formulas (i.e. A = lw). These areas (no pun intended) will be taught in a way that is understandable for various learners. This course will be done via PowerPoint slides, with at least one supplementary video that looks at each of the four shapes. For some fun and application to real life, examples of shapes such as basketball courts, gardens, and everyday items will be used.

I am a certified online teacher, teaching math, grammar, English, reading, and history at various levels to children and adults. I utilize videoconferencing, audio, videos, whiteboards, and various e-learning techniques for young learners, as well as adult learners. Other areas covered in my courses include algebra, geometry, physics, HTML, and instructional design. students from kindergarten to the 12th grade. Each class is interactive, engaging, thought-provoking, and fun!
I have an MS in Instructional Design and Technology, with 10+ years experience. I have written and published three technical books on Amazon. In November 2018, I received my TEFL certification. My goal has been to not only develop courseware but to also experience teaching. I believe teaching is the core of effective instructional design. My work has included diverse instructional projects helping different learners acquire needed skills and knowledge.
In my spare time, I watch and analyze basketball, partake in social matters and advocacy, exercise, write books and articles, do landscape paintings, and work on interior and exterior housework.
