Description

Class Experience

Students will learn the signs of braille that represent each letter of the English alphabet, the capital indicator, a period, a question mark, an exclamation point, and a space. Students will be able to read words in uncontracted UEB
Homework will be assigned weekly to practice creating the braille learned. Students will complete the homework individually and should take no more than 30-45 minutes to complete. Emphasis will be placed on short daily practice as opposed to doing one long homework session once per week.
Learners will need: -graph paper with 1/2" squares (available on Amazon for $5.99) -1/4" dot stickers (available on Amazon for $4.36) -a dark marker with which to trace (washable preferred so that it does not bleed through the page)
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Learner progress will be assessed through a project created in the last class.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
