In this lesson students will be introduced to finding the area of trapezoids. We will break down the parts of a trapezoid to then incorporate it into the formula. Students will learn to apply to formulas to find the area of a trapezoid. Once they have taken notes they will work on skill based problems. Students will have an opportunity to gradually apply the formula independently. They will then apply the formula to find the area of a trapezoid in word problems. They will leave the class with notes to use at a future time.
