Class Experience

US Grade 5
Intermediate Level
Welcome to the writing class where you will reach new writing heights throughout this course. As Abraham Maslow once said: In any given moment, we have two options, to step forward into growth or to step back into safety. All Students are welcome whether you are experienced or looking to finesse your writing, come and be challenged to new heights.

~In this course, you will learn how to craft four different papers including narrative, persuasive, expository, and a research paper.

~My goal is to ensure that students will experience learning in a dynamic and engaging environment and thus I will use a variety of interactive tools, videos, and presentations.
On top of this, students will have access to a plethora of examples to help facilitate their writing process. Every step of the writing process will be explored to its fullest, and students will have an opportunity to learn through guided activities solely or independently.

~It is crucial for students to not only consume the content, but implement their learning into their work, and therefore there will be plenty of opportunities for them to do so.

☀️Learning Expectations and Objectives
Students will receive all materials at least two days before class to ensure any document PDF can be printed. If there is no way to print these out, then ensure you have plenty of paper or a notebook to utilize during class. Every student will be asked to participate to gain further insight into class content, exercises, and assignments.

~Chat may be used whenever deemed necessary, however, students will need to be respectful of others and post class-appropriate content.

~Every learner will have one week from the class to complete all the necessary assignments

☀️Other Important Information
Recordings are available if learners miss the class for any reason, and please let me know if you need access to the presentation.

If learners arrive late, I always do my best to catch them up, but they may need to review any exercises as best as they can.

Being aware of the due dates for each assignment will be important as this will ensure that learners will receive their essays promptly. As a teacher with different cohorts of students and a parent, being conscious of time is of the essence. I request that you respect the due dates unless there is an extenuating situation.

☀️ I look forward to having your learner in class for an engaging learning experience!

For learners who need differentiation, shorter writing assignments will be acceptable, and sentence stems, and helpful questions for the outlines to assist with writing.
