Beginner - Advanced Level
In this one-on-one art class, students can choose to draw or paint seascapes with crayons, watercolors or colored pencils pencils. We will explore the beauty of watercolor and create this lovely beach scene or sketch an object from the beach, such as a stone or a shell. I will teach how to create texture with paint and colored pencils pencils. I will demonstrate techniques of crayon resist and sketching with colored pencils also. I teach proper brush care as well as how to use the brushes to create texture. We will discuss blending colors with watercolors and how to create a translucence. I teach color theory and how to mix basic colors. I provide instruction to keep the learner on track and then allow the learner to express his or her individuality and creativity.
Learning Goals
Students will explore techniques to create beach scenes and sea animals.
Students will be able to study an object or picture of the sea, and create a representation of it.

- sketch pad and/or watercolor paper - crayons - bowl or cup with water - towel or clean rag - One or more water color brushes - Watercolor paints in a box or tubes - Optional: water color palette for mixing paints

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
