Beginner - Advanced Level
Does your learner have an important interview coming up? For a college or school place? Or are they being questioned for an award, badge, competition, or leadership opportunity? Perhaps they have a TV/Radio, YouTube, Newspaper, Podcast, or other Media interview coming up? Or do they need to prepare to talk about their participation in a sport, hobby, interest, or event? Or are they getting ready for a future job interview or work experience opportunity? In this class, we will start with a warm-up that learners can take away and use on their 'big day'. This warm-up helps improve their articulation, enunciation, and pronunciation. Preparing them to speak their best. Then using mock ideas, topics, concepts, and questions I will conduct a 20 minute mock interview, fully in role as the required interviewer (*the more information you can give me beforehand will be very helpful here). I will then give detailed feedback about where your learner did well (boosting their confidence and encouraging them where necessary) before spending some time helping them with not only WHAT to say, but HOW to say it. Each session will be completely personalized to build on a learner's individual strengths, and improve any areas of weakness. We can look at ways to avoid using filler words (for example 'um', 'er', or 'like'), or we may work on their tone, intonation, vocal color, or techniques to sound more engaging/interesting/or interested. I have worked with native and non-native speakers, and experienced and non-experienced learners. Previous learners who have prepared for interviews with me, have gone on to secure places in private and independent schools, including an ESL learner who got 2 separate places at 2 highly prestigious independent schools in a country they don't yet live in, another learner built up to delivering much more confident and self-assured podcast, TV, and news interviews, another successfully achieved a leadership opportunity, and another a badge they had been working towards for some time, previously unsuccessfully. I also had a Forensic Speech candidate move from always getting 4th place to 2nd, and I've helped many learners prepare for their upcoming media and job interviews. **If you are unable to find a suitable time in my class availability do please reach out, as I can often juggle my filming schedule day to day and week to week**
Learning Goals
Learners will be able to experience a practice interview, and learn how to address possible questions they may face.
Learners will be able to learn not only WHAT to say, but also HOW to say it. Building their confidence and self-expression skills in the process.
