Is your learner obsessed with Superheroes? Do they talk about them all the time? Do they know everything about them? Why not put that knowledge to good use by creating and giving speeches about them and gaining Public Speaking skills along the way? Learners will prepare and present 4 speeches using the skills they have learned in class. All speeches MUST be about Superheroes or another aspect of the Superhero world. These speeches will be: How to, Narrative, Persuasive, Informative. Learners are encouraged to submit a general outline of their speech to the teacher before giving their speech so she can follow along as they present it. They can also use the opportunity to ask for feedback before they give their speeches. Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a former Home School student who has never stopped learning! I love history and telling stories verbally and through writing, and I want to share that passion with others. I believe the statement is true: “Those who don’t learn from History are doomed to repeat it.” We need to learn from the past to shape our own futures and the world in general. I believe the best way to learn about history is to learn about the people who lived through it and what they experienced and tell their stories. I love telling stories through writing and enjoy public speaking, so storytelling is a natural combination of the two.
I have 4 years of teaching experience in a variety of places from teaching/coaching drama and dance for homeschoolers in a group setting, to homeschooling two young children for a few months, to teaching English as Second Language (ESL) to college students, to teaching Arts and Crafts at a Summer Camp. I am currently a ESL teacher online with VIPKid. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Communication from Stevenson University.
I love to travel both in the US and internationally. I’ve spent time in almost every state on the East Coast and driven through the rest. I’ve visited seven different countries and lived in Asia for 17 months.
