Class Experience

Beginner - Intermediate Level
Based on my popular weekly Present like a Pro class in this 5 day camp, each class will start with a vocal warm-up to improve our articulation and pronunciation (meaning learners will walk away with a collection of 5 different ones they can use in the future after the camp) and a fun tongue twister to suit the day's theme.

Next, Mrs. T will introduce the day's TV/YouTube presenting style which we will all try to copy and replicate, with a specific voice and non-verbal presenting tip to learn and develop in the live class. Learners get to try out their newly developing presenting skills on a piece of script (this is given in the chat and will often have some blank bits for learners to add in their own fantastic adjectives and creative ideas).

Each class will end with learners starting to create their own (fun and often comical) version of the script (like a recipe with fun ingredients that don't even have to be food, their own top tips for a game they like, or a nature program narration about a fantasy or made-up creature etc) which they deliver in the chosen style. They are welcome to continue working on this after the class to share with us the next day if they wish.

Learners are very welcome to add to the experience by wearing a piece of costume (such as an adult's white shirt makes a great Science lab coat, an apron looks great for baking, or camo/green/brown clothing for nature presenting for example) or they can bring along a small prop to class (like binoculars, a pretend test tube, or bowl and spoon etc) to suit the presenting style each day, and Mrs. T will help set the scene with showing some appropriate green screen backgrounds.

Monday we will be Baking/Cooking Presenters.
Tuesday we will be Gaming Podcasters/YouTubers.
Wednesday we will be Science presenters.
Thursday we will be Nature/National Geographic Presenters.
Then on Friday we will put all the techniques together (known as layering) to present a pretend Exotic Pets YouTube video.

'I am an experienced Radio/TV/Live/Video/Online Presenter, Teacher/Tutor, and Storyteller, who has picked up lots of ideas, tips, and techniques about how to present herself. The fact that I started life as a very quiet child is living proof that they really work too'.

In this camp, Mrs. T will help each learner to improve an aspect of their public speaking/presenting whether they are just starting out or already have lots of experience.

Here are some reviews from the weekly version of this class:
‘My son loves Mrs.T’s classes from his first lesson with her. She explains how to speak different topics in professional and funny ways. Highly recommended!’
‘Mrs. T explains how to make a speech interesting and attractive to listeners. Kids get different topics every class, and my 8years old really enjoys it:)’
