Put away the mundane popcorn in a bag and let’s pop our own! Here’s a simple popcorn recipe for how to make rainbow popcorn with bright colors and a sweet flavor. You will not believe how much flavor you can get from just a few simple ingredients! The best part of these homemade popcorn recipe is that they look just as good as they taste. Imagine all of these beautiful colors in a delicious light snack. In this fun-filled cooking class, the teacher will share interesting facts about popcorn. The teacher will then demonstrate a step by step process while having students follow along to make their tasty snack. No doubt, this a super fun and festive treat. No experience or knowledge of this recipe is required. Using neon food coloring or gel coloring makes the colors “pop” even more (but any three colors will be fine)! Safety is paramount for each chef! Please make sure students can safely use a microwave. The bowls can get hot, so ensure your child is using oven mitts when handling it out of the microwave. Adult supervision may be needed in assisting the student in case they are new to the experience. Additionally, review the listed ingredients to ensure students are not allergic to them or need to substitute with an alternative that is safe for your child.

✔️ 1 cup of Loose UNPOPPED popcorn kernels ✔️ Microwave (Have your child work where the microwave is so the teacher can better guide them.) ✔️ 1 microwave cover with VENT holes ✔️ 3 MICROWAVABLE medium sized bowls (NOT PLASTIC) ✔️ 3 different colors of food coloring (any colors, but neon colors & the liquid type works best) ✔️ 3 tablespoons of butter ✔️ 3 tablespoons of canola or vegetable oil ✔️ 1 tablespoon of salt ✔️ 1 cup of honey (or corn syrup) ✔️ 1 large tray or bowl ✔️ 1 spoon (tablespoon sized) ✔️ ¼ measuring cup ✔️ 1 pair of oven mittens ***NO file is needed for class. The file is merely a welcome picture.***

👋 Hello! I'm Teacher Saara. I've been featured as an EPIC and ACE educator! I have a passion for teaching and I am very excited to teach your learner! I love to cook, swim, travel and conduct experiments! I’m originally from an island in the Caribbean called Trinidad. However, I grew up on Long Island, New York and I now reside in South Florida.
🎓 I have a Master's degree in Literacy from Long Island University, a Bachelor’s degree in General and Special Education from St. Joseph’s College as well as certifications in both TESOL and TEFL. I have been teaching for over 12 years in public and private schools. I've also been recognized as an EPIC Educator by Outschool providing instruction and creating class experiences that are Empowering, Passion-driven, Intentional, and Connected. Now that's EPIC!
👩🏫 Currently, I’ve been teaching online for over six years and I have experience teaching well over 15,000 online classes to students and I absolutely love the atmosphere of an online classroom! I have also spent three years in the tropical Caribbean teaching English to children from all parts of the world. I have taught ages three to 18 years old in subject areas such as ESL, reading, conversing skills, phonics, writing, cooking, grammar, math, science, social studies, fingerplay/songs, role playing and much more!
