What is blending? Blending is the skill of joining individual speech sounds (phonemes) together to make a word. Research suggests that blending is a crucial phonemic awareness skill that should be taught as part of a research-based approach to the teaching of reading. Students will learn the concepts of print. Students will learn how to blend CVC word families, use sight words in complete sentences, write words and present at our weekly show and tell show.
I have a Master’s degree in Literacy and I’ve been teaching phonics and reading for ten years.
