<NOTE: This course does not support or provide a therapeutic outcome> The Great Book Series 1:1 class offers a personalized and immersive opportunity for your child to explore life-changing ideas from some of the world’s most influential books. This class is designed to go beyond traditional learning by introducing timeless wisdom and powerful concepts that will inspire and equip your child to think critically, learn faster, and succeed in life. Through customized lessons tailored to their pace and needs, we’ll unlock curiosity and empower young minds in ways that are engaging, challenging, and highly impactful. What Will Be Taught? In this one-on-one class, your child will delve into key ideas from books like Thinking, Fast and Slow, Outliers, and Atomic Habits, as well as inspiring biographies of influential figures such as Steve Jobs and Nelson Mandela. The focus will be on teaching your child how to think strategically, develop healthy habits, and understand the principles that have helped successful people overcome obstacles. These concepts will be broken down into digestible, relatable lessons designed to spark deep understanding and practical application in your child’s life. What Topics Will We Cover? The Power of Habits: How small, consistent actions can lead to big results in life and learning. Success Principles: Exploring the stories and strategies of people who have made a mark on the world. Mindset and Growth: How to cultivate a mindset that thrives on challenges and learning. Decision-Making and Problem-Solving: Understanding how to make smarter, more confident decisions. How is the Class Structured? Each session is carefully designed to cater to your child’s learning style and pace, ensuring a focused and engaging experience. The class will be structured as follows: Introduction and Concept Overview: A brief explanation of the day’s key ideas and their importance. Deep Dive into the Topic: We’ll break down complex ideas using examples from the books and real-life situations, ensuring they resonate with your child’s interests. Interactive Activities: In-depth discussions and activities tailored to your child, reinforcing lessons and making the concepts actionable. Reflection and Q&A: Your child will have the chance to ask questions and reflect on how the lesson applies to real life. How Will I Teach? My teaching approach is designed to make complex ideas accessible and exciting for young learners. Through a combination of: Lectures: Engaging, concise explanations of key ideas that are directly relevant to your child’s life. Interactive Discussion: Encouraging your child to share their thoughts, ask questions, and engage with the material in a supportive, one-on-one environment. Personalized Activities: Custom activities that challenge your child to think critically and creatively, including tailored decision-making scenarios and personal goal reflections. Visual Aids and Diagrams: Using slides and visuals to make abstract ideas more concrete and memorable. Video Clips: Integrating real-life examples through video clips that bring the principles to life, demonstrating how these concepts work in the real world. What’s My Teaching Style? I believe in creating a dynamic, engaging, and student-centered environment where your child feels encouraged to ask questions and explore new ideas. My focus is on fostering a growth mindset, where effort and improvement are celebrated. I aim to make each session feel like an exciting exploration of new concepts, creating a space for your child to feel empowered and inspired to apply these lessons to their life. How Much Will Learners Get to Interact? Since this is a 1:1 class, your child will have ample opportunity for personalized interaction: Tailored Discussions: Every session will be an open conversation, encouraging your child to share their ideas, ask questions, and deeply engage with the material. Personalized Activities: Interactive activities that are customized to challenge and motivate your child, ensuring a hands-on learning experience. Reflection and Feedback: At the end of each lesson, your child will have the chance to reflect on what they’ve learned and clarify any questions, ensuring a strong grasp of the concepts. The Great Book Series 1:1 class is not just about learning from books—it’s an opportunity for your child to unlock powerful ideas and timeless wisdom that will guide them toward success in school, relationships, and their future. This personalized experience is an investment in their intellectual growth, helping them develop skills that will benefit them for years to come.
