Homework
1-2 hours per week. Students will work on their business plan each week so that by the end of the course they have a fully developed business plan and are ready to launch their own business. We will review the business plan progress each week as well.Assessment
At the end of the course each learner will receive a short written assessment of their performance in class, as well as their strengths and areas of development.Class Experience

Beginner Level
We use the case method approach, meaning that each week students will receive a 1 page case write up of a business scenario and we will discuss and work through it live in class. This is not a lecture format. Students will be asked to participate, think on the fly, and communicate their view points. We strive to make these classes as engaging as they are educational, so we incorporate activities, games, and role playing. Students do NOT require any prior knowledge or experience of business. This course will teach them the introduction, while also teaching them to think like a CEO. All course material will be provided, so nothing additional is required from you. In each session we will review a relevant business/entrepreneurship concept, which includes a case scenario that we will review and discuss. Then we will spend time applying the learnings to the business idea/plan the student is working on.

I received my MBA from Harvard Business School and studied the case method approach extensively, including teaching and writing cases. In addition I have worked in the business world for over 20 years in various roles including as a corporate strategist, entrepreneur, and CEO. I've worked at start-ups as well as companies as big as IBM. In addition I've taught at Kaplan Test prep and tutored elementary through high school for over 15 years.
