In this four week, 1 day a week flex class, we will be learning how to read a map, create a map, and understand directions through many fun activities in this class. Class will begin with students visiting the classroom to find an introduction post from Teacher Lauren. Students will be asked to list their name, their favorite animal and why they love that animal in the classroom to get to know one another. We will find there are times we are similar and there are times we are different, but...
Students will begin to learn how to read a map, create their own map, key and apply these skills through games, videos, and creating art related projects to post in the classroom. They will also build a great classroom community of friends!

Homework will be simple drawings, interacting in the classroom through commenting and posting, as well as creating short videos to present their homework or to speak on their homework. Students will need paper, pencil, a recording device to create and post videos, images and to discuss their topics in the classroom. Students do not meet live, so they will need to be able to interact in the classroom through posting homework and activities they complete as well as commenting (with kindness) on other students posts.

Parents may need to assist students with posting their homework videos and images. Commenting from students will need to be regulated by parents with kindness encouraged when responding or commenting on classroom posts. All sources and resources are provided by the teacher. Sources used will be power points, videos, images, pdfs and posting in the classroom comment boxes.
