1 hour per week. Each day, an assignment will be assigned, but it is up to the discretion of families to determine how much their learner(s) will complete. This is a no pressure course offered to get students mind and fingers ticking on the keyboard by getting to know the keyboard.Certificate of Completion

US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
Beginner Level
This is a self paced (not live) class with a video of me teaching the lesson provided each week followed by optional assignments. Students are encouraged to use a typing site for practice with a login provided to said typing site to help me monitor their progress and provide certificates. Please, be advised, all assignments are optional and the guardian of each home may decide on the use of the typing site links provided. Topics we will cover are J, F and Spacebar keys, proper positioning and proper posture, as well as learning the names of the fingers we place on the homerow or homekeys. Students will participate in the classroom by commenting on each other's posts and sharing a "show and tell" style activity they complete. All assignments are optional!
Learning Goals
Students will master where the home row is, how to properly place their hands on the keyboard, and basic keys in the home row space. Due to having little hands at this stage, we will not be learning every key of the keyboard, but enough to get us started.Syllabus

Learning Needs
Learning to type benefits many communities, especially those who are of special needs. Students who are diagnosed with dyslexia, adhd and/or autism will benefit greatly from learning to type so as to ease the difficulties of writing!
Parental Guidance
Parents will need to assist their learner with posting their homework, printing homework, logging into their typing site, and monitoring internet useage. No materials are needed except a keyboard, printer for some of the worksheets (optional), and internet access. Logins for the site are given by the teacher for the website used for practice which is OPTIONAL. I have been typing at 88-120 wpm since 2000. I was a teacher assistant in high school for my typing instructor due to my proficiency in typing and I have taught students of all ages on my own, as well as on Outschool, how to type proficiently since 2020.
