This 1:1 Private Tutoring Session is individualized according to the learner's needs. (***I recommend taking my one-time class, Getting to Know You /Initial Assessment prior to this class.) I welcome parent input when deciding which skills students need to work on. Once a focus is identified, I will use a variety of strategies to help your student increase their skills and confidence in order to be a successful reader! Here are some skill areas we can work on: Early Reading: Phonemic Awareness Letter Recognition Letter Sound Identification Blending CVC Words Building Larger Words Sight Word Recognition Comprehension Skills: Main Idea Fact and Opinion Context Clues Plot and more! Children learn best when they feel safe and have fun. I strive to be sure both of those are true of my classes. I teach with Slide Presentations, games, and interactive activities. Most importantly, I work with the student where they to help them grow into confident readers.

Students will learn skills to help them become fluent and accomplished readers. Skills will be determined by assessment as well as parent input. Individual learning goals will be determined after assessment had been completed.

Students will need either paper/pencil, or a whiteboard/marker for work in class. In addition, depending on the skills identified, may need to print out materials before specific classes.
