History Herald: Exploring the Cold War - US & Soviet Union Relations After WWII In this multiday class, students will explore the background of the Cold War, the major events that happened, and the eventual outcome of the issues between the United States and the Soviet Union between 1945-1991. We will work together through interactive presentation, discussion, and collaboration to explore the Cold War, the main reasons of the tensions, the key leaders, the differences between capitalism and communism, as well as the major events that occurred during this period. Week One- What is a Cold War and The Players/ Communism Versus Capitalism Week Two- Berlin and Korea Week Three - Vietnam and Cuba Week Four - The End of the War By the end of class, students will have a solid understanding of the Cold War, its motives, the consequences, and the effects it has had on the world, then and now. This class is a beginner class, so no prior experience is needed.

Students will leave class with a thorough understanding of this major world event that alter and controlled the actions of the world for almost 50 years.

For the past decade, I have been encouraging students through education and personal development to explore the challenges of the past. Through my own personal education and professional development, I create a safe environment for students to learn about challenging topics of the past. My undergraduate is in history, focusing on United States and European integration, past cultures, and empire. My first master's degree is in education with a focus on English/Language Arts and History. My second master's degree is in history with a focus on world empires and United States/Europe during the premodern era and modern era. I am currently pursuing my PhD in history focusing on immigration and relations with indigenous peoples and cultures.
