Writing & Composition for Intermediate-High Level Learners of German: Self-Paced

In this 6-week, self-paced course, learners will practice their German writing skills and improve their expressive German writing style while receiving detailed feedback & writing support from the teacher.

Homework
1-2 hours per week. Students will be asked to draft, edit, and compose writing samples sometimes outside of class viewing time.
Assessment
I will assess students using writing rubrics as indicated by the Goethe Institute and ACTFL (formerly American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages; now only known by its acronym).
Grading
Grades provided by request, can align towards International Baccalaureate rubric grading scale or U.S. K-12 grading scale.

Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
Intermediate - Advanced Level
Students will work with the teacher on achieving advancing knowledge of high intermediate level (Goethe Institute level B1 or U.S./Canada high school level 3 or 4) in German, in order to be prepared to communicate for school or business in German-speaking countries. We will write on a variety of topics. This class will utilize a small group format in order for students to have plenty of time for personalized feedback and practice. The teacher will use slides, some grammar practice and reinforcement, and writing rubrics as indicated by the Goethe Institute and ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages)

Learning Goals
Students will work on achieving a greater flow of writing in German and building upon skills learned from TWO OR MORE previous years of German in school, or via an extended stay in a German-speaking country.
