Conversational French for High Schoolers!
Class experience
This class is for high schoolers who want to practice their conversational French skills. I suggest learners should have at least 2 years’ of high-school level French to be able to stay active in the conversations which will take place in French. Occasionally I will provide an English equivalent in the chat, or better yet, explain a word students don’t know with a French synonym. We will discuss topics such as French cinema, current events in Francophone countries, the French school system,...
Students will gain more confidence speaking French. The teacher will aide them in any pronunciation difficulties they may have or ways of making oneself understood in a Francophone country WITHOUT reverting to English.
I have taught French in grades 6-12 for 13 years. I have taught both MYP and IB French, levels 1-5. I spent much time in France during college (my BA is in French). During graduate school, I lived for 2 years in Quebec City. I believe in speaking with students in the target language and soliciting answers in French as well.
