In this class, learners will get small group and one-to-one help conquering common math story problems. Many students are successful with their basic calculations but get lost when it comes to math application and story problems. This class will be aimed at upper elementary students (Grades 4-6) and will help students break down the language of math as well as strategies for problem-solving. In the mainstream classroom it can be hard to focus and get the help you need but in this small online setting that becomes much easier. Week 1: Language of word problems Week 2: Word Problem strategies Week 3: Calculation review (addition) Week 4: Calculation review (subtraction) Week 5: Calculation review (multiplication) Week 6: Calculation review (division) Week 7: Create your own problems If your learner needs a bit of extra help with problem-solving and/or calculations then this is the right place to be.
