US Grade 3 - 6
I am a certified teacher who has taught upper elementary and middle school humanities for 15 years and I've learned that current events are one the best ways to get kids reading. I've also spent the last 15 years living abroad and meeting people from different cultures and nations. This class is a global class and we have students from all around the world join us each week. In this ongoing class, learners will work to ask questions and share what they know about the world around them. We will explore multiple news sources and discuss all the week's main events in this discussion-focused class. All news links will be posted at the end of the week and students are welcome to go further on their own outside of class time. Students will also have the opportunity to direct their own learning and read about topics they are interested in.
