Join our engaging and interactive math sessions where learners collaborate with both the teacher and peers to tackle two-digit addition and subtraction problems. Each class starts with a thought-provoking "minds-on" picture to spark math discussions and sharing. This is followed by mental math practice, highlighting a specific strategy every week. Learners should have a foundational understanding of making tens and place value (tens and ones). Using these concepts, we'll explore ways to break apart numbers and develop effective strategies for solving mental math equations. Each session is designed around carefully chosen problems that focus on building one key strategy, offering diverse approaches to understanding numbers. These strategies are standalone and do not build on each other, allowing learners to join a single session or participate in multiple sessions without feeling behind. Perfect for students looking to enhance their math skills in a supportive and engaging environment. ***Each session focuses on developing a specific computation strategy. Strategies do not build on the previous week.***
