Class experience
Who do you think should be on a quarter? You’ll learn about 5 incredible women in this engaging course including Dr. Sally Ride and Anna May Wong. Plus, you get to share who 𝙮𝙤𝙪 think should be on the next women’s quarter. Students will have a basic understanding of the American Mint. Students will have a basic understanding of the study of "numismatics." Students will apply what they learn about the selection process of each woman to the women presented in the subsequent classes. Students will create a quarter showcasing their new understanding of "The American Women Quarters Program."
Depending upon the learner's final project, students may need anything from access to a computer to create their presentation, paper and map colors, or any number of other materials they choose. There will be no reason to purchase anything as these materials should be readily available in the home.
We will use the following source during class: https://www.usmint.gov/ Your child will not need to register for an account; however, if your child wants to learn more, order items from the US Mint, or receive newsletters and publications, they may choose to register. It is not necessary for this Outschool class.
