Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
Every generation and every culture has their own gender and social norms, and in them, are women who are willing to challenge and break them. In this class we will take a look a the lives and impact of different women, both from history and modern day. We will discuss the time period that they lived, what were their lives like and their accomplishments, how were the received and remembered in their cultures and history, and what role they have in the scope of studying women in history.

This is a weekly recurring class, which means:
            - Each week is an independent class. You pay for each week that you would like to join. You can pay for each week that you choose to attend class. There is no start or end date, so feel free to come and go as your schedule dictates.
             - As this is a weekly subscription class, there is no homework. (I will provide homework for those parents or students that request it.) Each class will consist of a powerpoint lecture, some videos, and a brief history about the field or time period that each woman lived in. The last 15-20 minutes of class will be a guided discussion about the journey each of these women took in their lives. Each student is encouraged to examine the topics discussed, look at how society helped or discriminated against each of these women, and explore how society has changed.

**************************This class will cover some topics such as violence against women (and rape), which is why the age range is 14-18.
