Class experience
The materials for this course will vary by student request. Here is a list of different women throughout history that we can focus on each session. This list is subject to change as there are many other women in history that can be discussed. Ancient World: Artemisia, Hatshepsut, and Cleopatra. Middle Ages: Christine De Pizan and Joan of Arc. Students will be able to identify women’s role throughout history and analyze their impact.
As someone who has done extensive research into the lives of many of these women, I feel that I have the expertise to teach this course.
This course will explore the sometimes harsh life that women experienced from minority women facing slavey and genocide to royal women's executions. I will never show graphic images of executions or anything else that could be viewed as sensitive. We will discuss topic such as sexism and possibly even racism. These topics will only be discussed as they relate to the lives of the learner's chosen woman of focus.
