Description
Class Experience
Exploring weird and interesting history can provide valuable context for understanding more mainstream historical events. Unusual occurrences often shed light on broader societal issues, cultural beliefs, or the impact of specific events on individuals and communities. Weird history often highlights the diversity of human experiences throughout time. Learning about odd traditions, strange customs, and extraordinary individuals can foster empathy and appreciation for different perspectives, cultures, and ways of life. Mainly - it's just fun!!
At the end of each class I offer "Extra Learning" for the students. This is optional, but will help enhance the class for all students.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
During this class, we talk about the weird and interesting parts of history. As with all my classes, these stories, as well as the history being told, will be discussed in an age-appropriate manner. Please contact me if there are any concerns.
