Class Experience

This is an ongoing class that focuses on social interaction amongst students who share a common interest: photography. Each week will present a different photography challenge topic. I will give a brief description of the challenge the week before it is due for discussion. Students will interpret the topic as they see fit and share photographs with the class for discussion. They will be encouraged to interact with one another, to maintain dialog and conversation, and to critique photographs in a positive way. The teacher will act as facilitator, asking questions about the scenes, composition, lighting, etc. and pointing out details of the photographs, and encouraging conversation. Some photography skills are necessary. Students must be able to upload photos prior to class. If this is your first class, please be sure your photos are ready for your discussion before class begins.

I've been a teacher in a traditional classroom since 2002. During that time, I have experience with pre-K through 8th grade. To further my interest in photography, I completed the New York Institute of Photography courses and received my certificate of completion in 2006. I've also completed several online training to strengthen my skills. I have photographed weddings, real estate, and portraits professionally but I absolutely love photographing nature and macro shots!
