Students will learn the type of angles and their measurements. They will have fun completing activities and drawing acute, obtuse, right and straight angles in order to learn to identify them. Students will learn by a presentation, examples & discussion, and practice with each type of angle. Once they have seen several versions of each angle they will be able to classify each angle as acute, obtuse, right or straight. Students will learn to classify these angles based on an image or on an angle measurement given. Students do not need to have any prior knowledge of this topic to be successful in this class. This is an introduction to this topic.

Supply List
***Please have paper and a pencil or a whiteboard for class to work out the problems. A ruler or some sort of a straight edge would be helpful too for drawing angles. I will provide a document that includes activities for class, and it has extra problems included that they can do for practice at home too. Students can print it out or they can write it on paper, all problems will be on the screen during class, so printing papers is optional. There is also a short video/song to view before class. You will receive them when you enroll.
2 files available upon enrollment

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Education from Slippery Rock University
Math anxiety is a common problem for many students. I have seen it so many times in the classroom and in my tutoring sessions.
It does not need to be! I teach Math with a simple, step-by-step approach, using a variety of engaging activities for all learning styles, and I have had great success with my students. I create a positive and relaxed environment for learning where students are comfortable. Children learn that they are free to ask questions, and yes, it is okay to make mistakes. Sometimes we learn most from the mistakes we make. I have been teaching K-6th grades for almost 20 years, and I have been a personal tutor for over ten. I believe all children can learn, and I work hard to meet all my students needs. Learning is made fun in my classroom and students will find success, with academics, and building their confidence too.
