Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Roderick Rules by Jeff Kinney is the second book in the series. It begins with Greg writing in his new journal. School is getting ready to start and Greg writes about how his summer has gone. He joined the swim team and enjoyed his summer break, with one exception. And only Rodrick knows that secret.
The Diary of a Wimpy Kid novels are a humorous, endearing story of an imaginative kid, and some of the hard-won lessons he learns as he journeys through school and life.

Supply List
Students will need a copy of the novel Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules by Jeff Kinney.
Upon enrollment you will receive the first week's handouts. Students are expected to do the assigned readings at home. We will complete the majority of the assignments during class. (I may assign a small amount of work at home to finish if needed.) This is a great book for a class literature unit. It is important that the student keep up with the weekly reading so we can complete the class activities in 8 weeks. This shouldn't be hard, because it is a fun novel that keeps the reader's attention. I have created class activities I think are meaningful and that the students will enjoy too. I will send the handouts out at the beginning of each week.

For the past 6 years, I’ve been working with students online at Outschool, focusing on simplifying essential skills in a fun and engaging way.

I hold Bachelor’s Degrees in Elementary and Special Education and am a certified K-8 Florida Professional Teacher. My approach centers on creating a positive, relaxed learning environment where children feel comfortable asking for help. I’m dedicated to addressing all learning needs and styles because I believe every child can succeed.

I transitioned from the classroom to focus on my own tutoring business, which allows me to work one-on-one with students, helping them grow and achieve their goals. I specialize in tutoring homeschoolers and unschoolers aged 8-15 in Math, Reading, and Grammar/Writing, as well as offering after-school support for classroom students. My group classes, especially my book clubs, are always a hit.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, hiking, going to the beach, and coaching basketball. I’m passionate about making learning enjoyable and accessible, and I hope to see you in one of my private tutoring sessions soon!

Thanks for stopping by.
