This Social Studies course is based on American History. Students will learn the history of the United States as it becomes a modern nation. This class will include multiple viewpoints while discussing and learning about historical events and people. Each week, the students will receive assignments in the Outschool Classroom. I have over twenty years experience working with and teaching students. I have a bachelor's degree in both History and Economics. My master's degree is in Higher Education. I also have a juris doctorate degree in Law. Most importantly, I have a passion for teaching, history in particular!
Homework Offered
Each week learners will receive three to five assignments that will be found in the Outschool classroom. The assignments include readings and activities. Activities include fill-in-the-blank, writing open-response questions, drawing, and many others. Students will also complete three projects during the class. Each project will be centered around one of the topics we are learning about, and students will have a variety of choices that match their interests.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class

Live classes and assignments will include information about various historical events and subjects that can be sensitive in nature. All discussions and assignments will be kept at an age-appropriate manner.
Resources from the Library of Congress Native American Collection and the National Museum of the American Indian will be used during our unit on the First Civilizations as well as throughout the course. This include maps, images, recordings, first-hand accounts and documents.
