Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 4
Intermediate Level
🔍 In this ongoing class, the students will read chapter books about solving mysteries with Sherlock Holmes. Whether it is catching curious criminals, solving ancient riddles and defending the honour of the king and the country, it is all in a day’s work for this world-famous detective and his faithful biographer, Watson. We will read 1/2 of a book each week for the first two books and 1 book a week thereafter and come to class ready to discuss. I can’t wait to go through this series with your students and try to solve the mysteries together!

🔍 I feel that reading, both alone or with a group, has an impact on who we are and how we interact with the world around us. No matter the students’ ages, or whether it is in a small group setting or large group discussion, conversing about books tends to turn into conversations about being human. Book clubs give each learner a sense of belonging and provides connections in many ways. My ultimate goal is to design a positive, affirming experience each time we come together.

🔍My teaching style is organized and full of fun while being relaxed and friendly at the same time. So come be a part of my class!
