Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
Build your SAT Power with this fast-paced and score-boosting class! Clear your desk of everything except your pencil, some scratch paper, your calculator, and your computer. I will guide you through each section of the SAT, give you a "game plan" for how to tackle the questions, and immediately give you a timed drill to help you put it all together. The drills will come from a recently released official SAT, so they will be as close to the real test as you can get. You will be exhausted at the end of this class, but when you see your score, it will be worth it!

Each month, I will update this class with drills from a different test. So, if you enjoy the class, you should sign up for it again the next month.

Please note that this class is to prepare students for the paper version of the SAT. If your student will be taking the digital version of the SAT, they should sign up for my "Prepare for the Digital SAT" class instead. Also, the drills in this class will be based on the SATs regular timing. If your student will be taking the SAT with extended time, they can still take the class. However, they should modify their pacing so that they only finish 50-75% of the questions on each drill.

Policies:
The teacher expects every student to keep their video on for the duration of class, unless they are having temporary tech issues or if the Outschool Safety team has cleared them to have the video off. In these two cases, the student should use Zoom's chat feature to let the teacher know why their video isn't on. Students who do not keep on their videos and do not communicate with the teacher will be removed from the meeting.
Learning Goals
Students will learn the best SAT Mindset (calm, confident, and prepared) and will learn the best approach for each type of question on the test. They will participate in four timed drills designed to help them find the correct pacing (not too fast and not too slow) to achieve their maximum score on test day.
