US Grade 8 - 11
"Prepare for the Digital SAT" is an ongoing class that students can join at any time to get ready for this important test. Each class will be a review of one of the many topics covered by the SAT. The more classes you attend, the more your score will go up! Classes will cycle through the topics of reading, grammar, and math. I will also integrate test-taking strategies into every topic, so students will continuously build their familiarity with the SAT's multiple-choice format. Who should sign up: This class is designed for high school students in the US or students in any country who plan to take the SAT for the purpose of applying to colleges in the US. You should be fluent in English and ready to work on the advanced reading and writing topics that are covered by the SAT. You should have already completed Algebra 1 and Geometry and at least some of Algebra 2. How it works: This is an ongoing class, so you can show up at any time and get right to work. Each class will start with a warm welcome to all students, both old and new, and a quick warm-up activity. Next, students who were in class the previous week will have a chance to ask any questions about the homework. The remainder of the class will be dedicated to building skills in one specific area covered by the SAT, such as using semicolons, solving quadratic equations, or answering the tricky poetry questions. Students should always come to class with a pencil, some paper, and their calculator because I'll be giving them lots of practice problems to try. Ongoing Reading Topics: Command of Evidence (Textual & Quantitative), Inferences, Words in Context, Author’s Purpose, Cross-Text Connections, Rhetorical Synthesis Ongoing Grammar Topics: Transitions, Subject-Verb Agreement, Sentence Introductions, Advanced Comma Rules, Colons Semicolons & Dashes, Apostrophes, Diction, Verb Tenses, and Pronouns Ongoing Math Topics: Ratios & Proportions, Polynomials, Exponents & Roots, Solving Linear Equations, Solving Inequalities, Graphing Lines and Parabolas, Probability and Statistics, and Mastering Word Problems Policies: It's not ok to watch this class like a video - every student needs to participate! Questions are always welcome, and students are expected to treat each other with respect. The teacher expects every student to keep their video on for the duration of class, unless they are having temporary tech issues or if the Outschool Safety team has cleared them to have the video off. 🌟Check out all of World Class Tutoring’s SAT/PSAT Classes! 🌟 ✏️4-Week Workshops Reading - https://outschool.com/classes/reading-workshop-for-the-satpsat-ynYzZcUS Writing - https://outschool.com/classes/writing-workshop-for-the-satpsat-chDypq63 Math (Problem Solving and Algebra) - https://outschool.com/classes/math-workshop-problem-solving-and-algebra-for-the-satpsat-1ywro9K2 Math (Geometry & Advanced Math) - https://outschool.com/classes/math-workshop-geometry-and-advanced-math-for-the-satpsat-aIa5uuss ✏️Drop-In Classes Advanced SAT Prep - https://outschool.com/classes/advanced-reading-and-math-for-the-sat-XZl0ylay Grammar Academy - https://outschool.com/classes/sat-writing-grammar-academy-drop-in-class-DaxMe2UV ✏️Self-Paced Classes Complete SAT Math Class - https://outschool.com/classes/complete-sat-math-class-8T71doDv Extra Practice for Fractions & Percentages - https://outschool.com/classes/sat-math-extra-practice-for-fractions-percentages-y7TIrlb5 Extra Practice for Rates & Ratios - https://outschool.com/classes/sat-math-extra-practice-for-rates-and-ratios-oJNcc9sG Grammar Academy - https://outschool.com/classes/sat-writing-self-paced-grammar-academy-bGaWyRdL Vocabulary Laboratory - https://outschool.com/classes/vocabulary-laboratory-for-sat-reading-and-writing-CfCR26yT ✏️Private Tutoring SAT & ACT - https://outschool.com/classes/math-andor-english-private-tutoring-for-standardized-tests-Rczl6eIj College Application Essay Coaching - https://outschool.com/classes/college-application-essay-coaching-iVCpIfkV
